Smell the book! This gorgeous candle was created by Mary Kelly, a makeup artist and candle maker, based in Mesa, Arizona. In her words…
“This candle is an homage to my dear friend Lindsay Goldwert, the author of a must-have book titled "Bow Down: Lessons from Dominatrixes on How to Be a Boss in Life, Love and Work." When the book was released there was no way to know what 2020 would bring, and how COVID would end the plans to travel and promote this book. But here we are in 2021 and it is now being released in paperback!
I wanted this candle to transport you to a fantasy world, where you can be your alter ego and be free to learn about your own power. It took me back to my youth, of the countless nights in the dim and smoky goth clubs, of leather.and vanilla,.and musky bodies crammed on to the dance floor. It was a time before camera phones and Facebook, when we were truly free to experiment without judgement.
I wanted it to recreate that "red room" space with a swirl of black to transport yourself into the mindset of manifesting your most powerful self.”
